Universal Robotics is looking for a motivated individual with an in-depth experience in development of computer vision applications – especially someone familiar with machine vision, robotics, and 3D sensor technologies.
Job Description
1. Develop state-of-the-art 3D vision-based robotic applications (e.g., 3D part inspection, 3D robotic vision guidance, etc.) as part of a small, high performance software development team.
2. Develop algorithms to analyze and integrate data from dense 3D point clouds from various sensors.
3. Develop test methodologies for ensuring robustness of vision-based algorithms, analysis, and control algorithms in the context of the customer’s specific application.
4. Work with a team of experts to create a superior solution by giving ideas as well as receiving advice.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.S/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
- Minimum 4 years experience in algorithm implementation using C, C++, or C# (.NET framework).
- A solid engineering background with hands-on experience developing robotics and/or vision systems.
- Understanding of and experience with any of the following: 3D object recognition, real-time machine vision and its application for control of robotic system, pattern recognition, sensor alignment and calibration.
- Strong analytical skills and solid mathematical foundation.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Ability to build/assemble/modify electronic assemblies or robots into various configurations for test purposes.
- Knowledge of software architecture, various programming languages.
- Experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
- Experience in creating 3D games.

Qualifications:
Provide leadership to two groups of software designers. Apply judgment in guiding the teams in achieving the best possible results for the company’s software business. The job requires high level working knowledge of software, sensors and artificial intelligence, as well as company business strategies. The manager will work closely with strategic planning to define and drive a roadmap that delivers superior value within market windows of opportunity. Tasks will involve managing internal project delivery using CMMI to meet commitments, including scope, schedule and resources, as well as considering the business impact. The manager will fulfill special assignments as part of the CEO’s staff. These are typically both logistical and strategic in nature.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Communicate and interact effectively with people, and provide leadership to a highly creative team.
- A high degree of creative ability, engineering understanding and independent judgment.
- Ability to manage multiple technical projects successfully.
- Minimum 4 years experience leading significant development projects, either as a lead engineer or project manager.
- Project planning and tracking experience on large design projects.
- Experience with CMMI
- Excellent programming skills in C/C++.
- Understanding of critical paths, dependencies, and tradeoff of requirements within complicated projects.
- Ability to anticipate and manage risk.
- Ability to learn technical information quickly, assess the pertinent points, and communicate it to others
- Proven software coding and/or robotic design experience
- Excellent programming skills in C/C++.
Minimum Qualifications: MS/PhD EE/CS/CE or other technical degree
Qualifications:
MS or PhD, demonstrable expertise in two or more of the following areas: dexterous manipulation; force control; sensory-motor coordination; computer vision; sensor integration; machine learning; autonomous systems; teleoperation; asynchronous, parallel software; actor-, agent-, or object-oriented systems / middleware. Must have a solid understanding of the graduate-level mathematics necessary for robotics, signal processing, machine learning, and control systems. Must be an expert c++ programmer with hands-on experience in the control of robot hardware. Experience with hardware design and construction, electronics, MS Windows .net programming.
