Universal Robotics™ creates software that enables machines to learn from experience, react and adapt to their surroundings, and perform tasks that are costly, dangerous or difficult for humans to undertake.  The company’s signature technology, Neocortex™, which was developed over seven years at NASA and Vanderbilt University, increases efficiency and worker safety across industries in applications including warehousing, mining, handling hazardous waste and automating vehicles such as forklifts. The first application will be in the materials handling industry where Neocortex will palletize and de-palletize mix sized boxes using industrial robots. The application will be used anywhere the benefits of automation will improve efficiencies. Unlike any other software, Neocortex learns from sensory motor coordination, bypassing its nearest software competitor.  The company also sells subordinate technologies developed in support of Neocortex as stand-alone products.
